Citrix® ShareFile is a collaboration solution growing in popularity that enables users to provide secure access to large documents by placing a secure direct download link to them within the body of an email to avoid sending emails with large attachments. As part of a new technology alliance partnership, Smarsh and Citrix have integrated their technologies to make compliance for ShareFile content easier to achieve, and more complete for organizations in regulated industries such as financial services, mortgage/lending, public sector, and healthcare.
The prior challenge
Until now, secure links to ShareFile documents referenced in the body of an email were archived in The Archiving Platform™ from Smarsh when sent, but the ingesting and indexing of the referenced document itself required a separate manual process. In addition to being policy-checked for potential compliance violations as they are ingested into The Archiving Platform, Citrix ShareFile documents are now stored in a search-ready state alongside all the other supported content types, including email, instant and text messages, web, video, and social media channels where they can be quickly and easily searched for, and retrieved for discovery-related purposes.
The NEW solution
The Archiving Platform from Smarsh now features support for archiving Citrix ShareFile documents sent using the ShareFile application, and will use it to securely and automatically access, index, policy-check, and ingest the referenced document. Automating the process in this way provides Smarsh customers with the same compliance and e-discovery capabilities they currently enjoy with all other supported content types, and avoids the need to create a separate solution and maintain a separate process for Citrix ShareFile content.
