Founder, Chairman and CEO
Stephen Marsh founded the hosted email archiving and compliance provider Smarsh, Inc. in 2001, and now oversees a global operation with more than 20,000 clients worldwide and 225 employees. Under Marsh’s leadership, Smarsh has grown to become the financial services industry’s premier electronic communications archiving provider, helping enterprises around the world meet their recordkeeping, supervision and e-discovery obligations.
Marsh was recently named the 2014 FTF News Fintech Person of the Year, and also serves as a member of the board of directors for the National Association of Independent Brokers/Dealers (NAIBD). Prior to founding the company, Marsh led product management and development efforts at CCBN, now a division of Thomson Financial. He also spent time in key roles at both Fidelity Investments and Morgan Stanley Dean Witter.
President & COO
With experience leading many of the core functions of SaaS companies, Brian takes a “whole business” approach to driving performance improvement. Brian’s mission is to grow the Smarsh enterprise and customer base through product and service excellence. A strong believer in process and metrics, his focus is on continuously improving the operational capabilities of the firm to enhance the experience of current and future customers.
Before joining Smarsh, Brian was the Chief Operating Officer of Granicus where he focused on customer support, professional services, and acquisition integration. For the past 15 years, he has held various leadership positions with software and software-enabled businesses, and worked in the semiconductor industry in the U.S. and Asia earlier in his career. He holds degrees from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and Thunderbird, The American Graduate School of International Management.
Chief Financial Officer
Parker Baldwin serves as Chief Financial Officer for Smarsh, and is responsible for financial reporting, accounting, financial analysis, and treasury. He has deep experience in developing and executing initiatives that elevate operational and financial performance in private equity-backed and publicly traded organizations in the technology industry.
Parker’s previous positions include Chief Financial Officer of Ivey Performance Marketing, Director of Finance at Mobile Technologies, Inc., and he also served as a former auditor with KPMG. He received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, and a Master of Science in Financial Analysis from Portland State University. Parker is also a licensed CPA in Oregon.
Chief Technology Officer
Dipak is responsible for all aspects of IT and product development at Smarsh, including its data centers, software development lifecycle, technical operations, and quality assurance.
He is well known in the industry for his ability to blend organizational leadership, technology vision and business acumen in the development of cost-effective and high performance teams, IT infrastructures and applications.
Before joining Smarsh, Dipak was Chief Technology Officer at International SOS, the world’s largest medical and travel security services firm. He also held leadership roles at eBay, GSI Commerce, and Lockheed Martin. Dipak earned his Master of Science degree in Software Engineering from Penn State University, and his Computer Science degree from Ursinus College.
SVP, Product, Strategy and Corporate Development
Sam Kolbert-Hyle serves as Senior Vice President of Product, Strategy and Business Development. He is responsible for product management and Smarsh business development efforts including corporate development, strategy, and emerging businesses. He also leads Smarsh merger and acquisitions and strategic partnerships, including alliances with service partners and independent software vendors.
Prior to joining Smarsh, Sam was an Associate at Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors in Los Angeles, a private equity group which focuses on growth investments in profitable software and service businesses. While there he developed expertise in Software-as-a-Service, enterprise software, IT services, technology products, online advertising, and other technology-enabled service businesses. He has also worked as an analyst at Citigroup and Cohen & Company (now Institutional Financial Markets) and was the co-founder and President of Campus Sportswear USA, Inc. from 2003 until 2007.
A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School with a concentration in Finance and a minor in History, Sam grew up in Philadelphia and is a loyal Philadelphia sports fan.

SVP, Sales and Marketing
As Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Tim Price is responsible for the sales strategies and methodologies implemented by the Smarsh sales and marketing teams.
Tim is an accomplished sales and marketing leader with more than 20 years of experience building and operating high-performance teams. He is the successful founder of two start-ups, and has public and private company experience including positions with InfoUSA, Yesmail, Abra Mobile, Accela, and XO Communications. Tim has deep expertise in Software-as-a-Service and agency-service organizations, salesforce automation, and lead generation. Tim works with teams to build predictable revenue, and create energy and commitment at every level in an organization.
Tim lives in Portland, where he enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, skiing, hot yoga, and tennis. Tim attended the University of Oregon and is a diehard Ducks fan.
SVP, Client Services
John Fronius is responsible for all customer-facing teams within Smarsh, which includes Customer Success, Technical Support, Professional Services, and Training. Before joining the company, John served as Vice President for Customer Experience at Sage, where he was responsible for the online support experience, communities and social support, content strategy, creation and delivery of knowledge, and training for customers and partners across North America.
John has more than 20 years of experience in leading award-winning support and services organizations for software companies including Yahoo! and Mentor Graphics, focusing on helping customers accelerate their time-to-value to get the most out of their investment in products and services.
John holds a degree in Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology, and an MBA from George Fox University. He is an avid music lover and enjoys playing guitar locally in Portland.
Bonnie Page joined Smarsh in 2013 as the company’s General Counsel. As General Counsel, Bonnie oversees Smarsh’s legal compliance and affairs. Bonnie has extensive experience advising Software-as-a-Service companies through various stages of growth.
Prior to joining Smarsh, Bonnie was Senior Counsel at Webtrends, a service digital optimization and analytics company, and General Counsel at Inxpo, a Chicago, Illinois based Software-as-a-Service virtual event and webcasting company.
Bonnie has also served as an adjunct law professor to the small business clinical programs at both Lewis and Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon and John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois. She is an active member of the board of directors of both the Oregon Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel and ChickTech. Bonnie earned her J.D. at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and a B.S. in biology from Colorado State University.
