Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act

The HITECH Act requires HIPAA covered entities to notify individuals without reasonable delay, and in no case later than 60 calendar days, after discovery of a breach of "unsecured protected health information" of individuals who's PHI has been, or is reasonably believed to have been, inappropriately accessed, acquired, or disclosed in the breach.
