Continuing to advance its data security program, the Professional Archive recently underwent a successful HIPAA/HITECH audit.

Smarsh is committed to serving its growing number of customers that are subject to HIPAA and HITEC regulations. These covered entities include local governments, healthcare organizations and insurance companies.

Designed to protect patient security and privacy, HIPAA and HITECH require appropriate administrative, physical and technical safeguards be in place to secure protected health information (PHI). Through an audit, an independent accounting firm reviewed and confirmed these safeguards are in place for the Professional Archive. The audit was performed under the AT-C 105 and AT-C 205 Type 1 standard.
