STEPHEN MARSH
Founder and Chairman
Stephen Marsh founded Smarsh in 2001. Under his leadership, Smarsh has grown to become the leader in the enterprise information archiving industry.
Before founding Smarsh, Stephen led product management and development efforts at CCBN, which is now a division of Thomson Financial, and spent time in key roles at Fidelity Investments and Morgan Stanley Dean Witter.
Stephen is actively involved in the Oregon technology community and mentors the founders of more than a dozen fast-growing companies. He was the recipient of the 2018 Technology Association of Oregon’s Sam Blackman Award, which honors Oregon’s top technology executive. In 2014, Stephen was named FTF News’ FinTech Person of the Year.
Stephen holds a degree in Information Management & Technology, Economics from Syracuse University.
KIM CRAWFORD GOODMAN
Chief Executive Officer
Kim Crawford Goodman is the Chief Executive Officer at Smarsh. She has leadership responsibility for all strategic and operating elements of this dynamic, growing business. Smarsh has leading edge technologies (Cloud native, AI, and integrated platforms) to enable clients to reduce their risk and meet their compliance requirements across a growing employee base enabled with expanding communication tools.
Before joining Smarsh, Kim was the Head of Payments and Risk Solutions at Fiserv, Inc., a Fortune 500 company. There, she provided executive leadership for the company’s bill payment, prepaid, and financial and risk management solutions businesses, with additional accountability for digital payments.
With more than 25 years’ experience, she has held key leadership positions with many of the largest brands across financial services and technology, including American Express, Worldpay US, Dell, and Bain & Company.
Kim has extensive experience with global, complex businesses, requiring strategic customer relationships, a deep understanding of critical business drivers, and effective engagement of a large, distributed workforce. Kim holds an Engineering and Political Science degree from Stanford University, and she is a Baker Scholar MBA graduate from the Harvard Business School.
MIKE CAGLE
Chief Financial Officer
Mike Cagle is the Chief Financial Officer at Smarsh. He is focused on scaling Smarsh’s financial and operational capabilities to accelerate growth and drive value creation.
With more than 20 years of experience in FinTech and SaaS industries, Mike is a strategic partner who aligns organizational financial objectives with operational execution.
Prior to joining Smarsh, Mike was responsible for all FP&A, corporate development, treasury, and investor relations functions at Veeam Software, the leader in enterprise SaaS backup and recovery space. He has a wide range of varied and progressive experience in finance-related fields, including investment banking, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate finance.
Mike holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Emory University and a Master of Finance from Georgia State University – J. Mack Robinson College of Business.
SHELDON CUMMINGS
President, Corporate Business
Sheldon Cummings is the President of the Smarsh Corporate business, which primarily serves the needs of broker-dealers, investment advisories and other financial services organizations, as well as customers in state and local government. He joined Smarsh following six years at Intuit, where he most recently served as Chief Operating Officer of Mailchimp. Previously, he has held dual roles as a leader of Intuit’s sales organization and as Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer (CDEIO), in addition to various leadership positions across Intuit's Sales, Marketing, Partnerships, and Global Operations teams.
Before transitioning to technology, Sheldon spent 13 years driving the full P&L leading Marketing, Sales and Strategy for international food brands Mondelēz International and Kraft Foods Group. While with Mondelēz, he led several categories across Europe, living for six years in Switzerland.
Sheldon was born in Brooklyn, New York. He graduated with a B.A. from Wesleyan University and an M.B.A. from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management with a focus in Marketing, Finance and Strategy.
NEVA DePALMA
General Counsel
Neva DePalma serves as General Counsel at Smarsh. She drives innovation in the critical areas of law, data privacy, and compliance. Neva builds motivated and effective cross-functional teams through transparency and collaboration.
In her most recent role as General Counsel & VP Customer Success at RadarFirst, Neva combined her enthusiasm for legal problem-solving with her commitment to creating a customer-centric culture. Prior to that, Neva served as General Counsel at the pioneering web analytics company, Webtrends.
Neva earned her JD at the University of California at Berkeley and a BA in Humanities and Spanish at the University of San Diego.
ROHIT KHANNA
Chief Customer Officer
Rohit Khanna is the Chief Customer Officer at Smarsh. His role is focused on supporting each of our clients to maximize customer satisfaction and ensuring that we enable the best outcomes for their businesses.
Rohit has a demonstrated track record of running global customer success and support services for cloud software providers - with customers ranging from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies.
Before joining Smarsh, Rohit was responsible for managing customer success and experience at multi-factor authentication software company SecureAuth. Prior to this, he worked for more than two decades in technology security.
Rohit holds a bachelor’s degree from San Francisco State University and a master’s degree from the University of San Francisco School of Management.
LEANDER LeSURE
Chief People and Diversity Officer
As the Chief People and Diversity Officer at Smarsh, Leander LeSure focuses on developing and aligning people strategy and teams to ensure growth, customer focus, and scale.
With more than 20 years of global HR experience, Leander has been recognized across several industry-leading organizations for creating world-class talent management strategies and programs with a significant emphasis in global sales and technology functions.
Leander has held senior-level HR positions with several prominent finance companies including Western Union and American Express. Most recently, Leander was the Chief People Officer for the nonprofit Year Up. Prior to Year Up, he held Chief People Officer positions at Herman Miller and Getty Images.
Leander holds a master’s degree in Human Resources and Industrial & Labor Relations from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management, where he was awarded a Weyerhauser Fellowship. He has a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations from Northern Kentucky University and also served as a communications specialist in the U.S. Navy.
VINAY MEHTA
Chief Technology Officer
Vinay Mehta is the Chief Technology Officer at Smarsh, leading the global Smarsh engineering organization and overseeing our product development, engineering, architecture and hosting efforts. As CTO, Vinay serves a critical role in the development and delivery of industry-leading communications intelligence and risk management technology solutions for highly regulated organizations.
Vinay has a proven track record as a global collaborator, leader and coach in the financial and technology fields. He joins Smarsh as an accomplished CTO at cxLoyalty and CIO at Paycor, with extensive experience impacting market-leading organizations worldwide.
Vinay holds a BSBA in Information Systems and Quality Management from Xavier University.
GOUTAM NADELLA
Chief Product Officer
Goutam Nadella is the Chief Product Officer at Smarsh. He focuses on turning emerging technologies into valuable, transformative solutions for our clients.
In his role, Goutam guides the product development strategy and helps tailor Smarsh solutions for different segments, both large and small, of a global market. He brings a deep understanding of technology and capital markets and a passion for designing, developing, and bringing innovative products to market.
Goutam started his career at Goldman Sachs as a product manager, where he led and managed the design and development of various products across all aspects of electronic trading. He then served formative senior executive roles at REDI, a Goldman Sachs spinoff, and Symphony, a leading secure, cloud-based communication, and content sharing platform company. At both companies, he drove the development of new solutions from inception and scaled them to successful business.
Goutam holds a Bachelor of Engineering from the Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology and a Masters in Computer Engineering from The University of Illinois at Chicago.
TOM PADGETT
President, Enterprise Business
Tom Padgett is the President of the Smarsh Enterprise business, which serves the needs of the largest global banks and financial services organizations. He previously served as Chief Revenue Officer for Smarsh between 2020 and 2022.
Tom came to Smarsh from SAP where, most recently, he held the position of SVP and General Manager of Ariba. Prior to that, he held roles that included SVP and Head of Leonardo & Analytics, as well as COO of Analytics. Tom joined SAP following his previous success scaling similar B2B organizations to impressive compound annual growth rates of 40% and higher.
He also served as Group Vice President at Oracle after it acquired BigMachines, where he was SVP for Worldwide Sales and Alliances.
Tom holds a bachelor’s degree in Business from Indiana University Bloomington.
DR. MAUREEN SCHUMACHER
Chief Marketing Officer
Dr. Maureen Schumacher is the Chief Marketing Officer at Smarsh. She leads all marketing initiatives and is focused on leveraging the company’s innovative history, robust product portfolio, and customer trust to build on its existing growth model.
Before joining Smarsh, Dr. Schumacher was the Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at Global Payments, where she transformed the organization's marketing into a customer-centric function focused on growth tenants.
Dr. Schumacher brings over 25 years of experience in digital marketing, communications, and brand strategy. She also held leadership positions at the New York Stock Exchange, Google, where she was awarded a Google Fellow, and GE Capital. Her contributions have been instrumental in several successful integrations, and she has consistently driven transformation through digital technologies, automation and a customer-focused operating model.
Dr. Schumacher holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from Georgia State University, and earned her BA in management and economics at Pennsylvania State University.
