Each quarter, we publish the highlights of new Smarsh product developments to keep you in the know.

In the third quarter of 2020, our product development team delivered a variety of new channel features, including adding capture enhancements for both Zoom and Microsoft Teams. We also introduced multiple new capabilities on our Enterprise products and made an exciting investment in artificial intelligence.

Zoom

Work remotely with less risk

To help surface the risk in your organization’s Zoom conversations and meet regulatory requirements, Smarsh now captures essential Zoom content. This includes video and audio content in Zoom meetings, Zoom rooms and Zoom phone as well as in-meeting and out-of-meeting chats. Audio content can be transcribed in over 120 languages and regional dialects. All content can be sent seamlessly to the Enterprise Archive where audio transcriptions can be searched alongside other text-based content. Read more.

Microsoft Teams

Capture more Teams content

Smarsh introduced several enhancements to its Microsoft Teams Capture product this past quarter. In July, Smarsh released archiving support for video and voice recordings including audio transcriptions. Once captured, audio content can be transcribed in over 120 languages and regional dialects and sent to the Enterprise Archive where it can be searched alongside other text-based content. Read more.

Additionally, Smarsh released support for Microsoft’s Webhooks API, which enables Enterprise Capture customers to increase the speed of their Microsoft Teams adoption. With this API, Enterprise customers can capture Teams content regardless of their Exchange Online enablement status.

Enterprise Innovations

Take advantage of AI Supervision features to save reviewer time and new Microsoft partnerships

Smarsh recently introduced a new artificial intelligence feature in its Enterprise Supervision application: Echo Cancellation. With Echo Cancellation, Smarsh can reduce the number of extraneous communications flagged for supervision review and save reviewers valuable time. Here’s an example of how it works: If an employee sends an email that violates one of your policies, and five people reply to that email, Echo Cancellation ensures you only get one violation notice for review. Typically, the reply emails would each result in their own violation flag because they included the offending email, resulting in a total of 6 emails that need to be reviewed. Already, in a pilot program of Echo Cancellation, a customer has seen a 20% reduction in email messages requiring review. Read more.

Additionally, Enterprise Supervision, Enterprise Discovery and Enterprise Archive are now officially part of the Microsoft One Commercial Partner program. In this program, these products can be sold together with Microsoft cloud solutions and deployed on Microsoft Azure. Read more.
